Looking for something new to wear this summer? At our mobility showroom in Waterlooville, we now have a stylish and colourful range of The Able Label clothing.

"Clothes I hear you say? What have they got to do with mobility solutions?"

In fact, The Able Label range of women's clothing is specifically designed to help make dressing much easier for those with a wide range of physical and cognitive needs. They really are a clever design; at first glance, you wouldn't even know that they're adapted. All the Velcro and easy fastenings have been expertly hidden.

The company was founded when Katie Ellis realised her grandmother – diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease – was having difficulty when dressing. So, to make life easier Katie decided to design and develop a clothing range that would be aesthetically pleasing and practical. And now it’s in our Waterlooville showroom ready for you to wear – what an inspirational story!

On the website, it says that "The Able Label provides quality, stylish clothes with adapted designs and hidden extras that make self-dressing easier for those with dressing difficulties."

The range includes wrap-around skirts and dresses, Velcro-fastened shirts, and pull-on trousers. The clothing range has been designed in such a way that you won’t need to worry about overhead dressing or struggling with fiddly buttons.

It is also extremely convenient for assisted dressing. The wrap-around dresses open completely. This means that there’ll be no more standing on one leg while stepping into the dress. This design makes things quicker and easier for all involved.

Another excellent feature is that the clothes have colour coordinated stitching inside which is very useful if you suffer from cognitive difficulties. The stitching on the inside of the garment is coloured either lime for the left and red for the right – this saves time and confusion when dressing.

In the past, we’ve had lots of positive feedback regarding The Able Label Range. And for the summer we’ve even dressed Mabel the Able Label Mannequin so she doesn't get too warm! Look how lovely and fresh she looks in her stripy black and white dress and red jacket.
